Materials:
6oz Caron Simply Soft
F Hook
5- 3/8" button
Yarn needle

Gauge:
18 sc/20 rows = 4"x4" square.

Dress Bodice:
Row 1- ch48, sc in 2nd ch and each ch across (47)
Row 2-9- ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across (47)

Left Front
Row 10 (WS)- ch1, turn, sc in 9
Row 11- ch1, turn, sc dec, sc in 7 (8)
Row 12- ch1, turn, sc in 6, sc dec (7)
Row 13-15- ch1, turn, sc in each. (7)
Row 16- ch1, turn, sc dec, sc in 5 (6)
Row 17- ch1, turn, sc in 4, sc dec (5)
Row 18- ch1, turn, sc dec, sc in 3 (4)
Row 19-20- ch1, turn, sc in each (4)
Fasten off.

Back: (wrong side facing)
Row 10- sk 5 sc on row 9, join with sc in next sc, sc in next 18 sc (19) leaving rem 13 sts unworked.
Row 11-18- ch1, turn, sc in each sc across (19)
**Rt Shoulder**
Row 19- ch1, turn, sc in 4, sc dec (5)
Row 20- ch1, turn, sc in each
Row 21- ch1, turn, sc in 3,sc dec (4)
Finish off.
**Lt Shoulder**
Row 19- sk 7 sc, attach with sl st to next sc, sc dec over same sc and next sc, sc in next 4 (5)
Row 20- ch1, turn, sc in each
Row 21- ch1, turn, sc dec, sc in next 3 (4)
Finish off.

Right Front: (wrong side facing)
Row 10- sk 5 sc on Row 9, attach with sc to next sc, sc in rem sc across (9)
Row 11- ch1, turn, sc in 7, sc dec (8)
Row 12- ch1, turn, sc dec, sc in 6 (7)
Row 13-15- ch1, turn, sc in each sc (7)
Row 16- ch1, turn, sc in 5, sc dec (6)
Row 17- ch1, turn, sc dec, sc in 4 (5)
Row 18- ch1, turn, sc in 3, sc dec (4)
Row 19-20- ch1, turn, sc in each (4)
Finish off.
**Sew Shoulders.
**Start bodice trim @ Rt Front bottom (RS facing)working towards neckline. Row1- sc in end of each row and sc around to bottom left corner. 3sc on bottom left corner, sc in each rem ch from foundation ch along bottom, 3 sc in bottom right corner, sl st to beg sc. Row2- ch1, sc in same sc as join and each sc around (3sc in each corner).
**Sleeve Finish-Row 1- attach w/sl st to open sc on row 9, sc in each row end and sc around. Use sc dec in each bottom corner of sleeve hole. join with sl st. Row 2- ch1, sc in join and each sc around. Finish off. Tuck ends.
**Button Loops- Once again in bottom right with RS facing- sk 2sc on bottom right, attach on 3rd sc w/sl st, ch5, sl st in next sc. Fasten off, weave ends. (Rem 4 loops- sk one sc, do loop in next 2sc.)
**Sew buttons opposite of loops on left side.

Skirt: its easier to attach skirt with buttons closed
Row 1- (Working on the inside of the vest @ center of back, bottom of the vest pointing up.)
Attach with sc to post of 1st finishing row (2nd row up from bottom). sc around each post around including front (you will just be bringing the front together like a shirt). (49sc)
Row 2- ch3, turn, dc in join, dc in next, (2dc in next sc, dc in next sc) around to last sc- 2dc in last sc. join with sl st to top of ch3. (74dc)
Row 3-18- ch3, dc in each dc around. join with sl st to ch3.
Row 19- ch1, sc in join and each dc around.
Finish off.

Shawl:
Row 1- ch76, sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across (75)
Row 2- ch1, turn, sc in 1st sc (ch3, sk next sc, sc in next sc) repeat across. (37 ch3 sp)
Row 3- turn, sl st in sc+ch3 sp, ch1, sc in ch3 sp, (ch5, sk next ch3 sp, sc in next ch3 sp) repeat across. (18 ch5 sp)
Row 4- turn, sl st in ch5 sp, ch1, sc in ch5 sp (ch3, sc in next sc, ch3, sc in ch5 sp) repeat across.
Row 5- turn, sl st in ch3, ch1, sc in ch3 (ch5, sk next sc, sc in next sc) repeat across, sk last sc, sc in last ch3 sp (17 ch5 sp)
Row 6- turn, sl st in ch5 sp, ch1, sc in ch5 sp, (ch5, sc in next ch5 sp).
Row 7- repeat row 6.
Row 8- turn, sl st in ch5 sp, ch1, sc in ch5 sp, (ch4, sc in next ch4 sp) repeat across.
Row 9-21- Repeat row 8 until there is only one ch4 space.
Finish off and weave in ends.

  4. I just came accross your blog this morning & I'm still looking at your patterns. all of your items for the american doll are adorable. I was looking for patterns to make items for my Grandaughters Doll,& yours are the cutest of all the ones I've seen. So I will be using alot if not all of your patterns & will be sure to tell all where I came accross them. Keep -em coming I love crocheting & my G-D loves dressing her doll. Crocnutt

  6. The dress I crocheted came out much larger looking than the pictures. The top is wider and the skirt is very wide. I probably should've used a smaller hook.

  7. I'm stuck working on the back. On Row 9 when I start crocheting the 19 sc, I have 14 sc remaining. Did I do something wrong?
